Lync -> Skype for Business How to add a Skype user outside of organisation.

Lync another IM service that did the same things as MSN messenger did in the year 2005 only then worse.

Looked forward for a long long time to the comming of Skype for Business, but it isnt that what I was hoping for.

Lets cut it down to my main problem. When trying to add an user outside of my organisatie and go for "skype" (like my skype account I use at home)

Skype for Business keeps complaining about the IM adres because there should be a @ somewhere in the adres.

Many people like me just have a Skype account wich is not an IM adres.

How can I add "normal" Skype accounts in Skype for Business?

Hi Don,

for now, you cannot yet use Skype username

when Skype for Business "Server" is released and you have it, it will be possible to search Skype directory using normal Skype username.

but as long as you still running Lync 2013 server, you're only option is to add Skype user using the email-address associated with their Skype username

May 1st.  You can add Skype users now however, but their account will need to be tied to a Microsoft account, that's the catch that goes away with the next version.

To do this, you'll need you edge server properly configure, then you'll want to register at pic.lync.com the rest is outlined in the following article.

As much as it can be, yes.  But it's nice to have that test tenant to know what's going to happen before you find out at the same time as your
